Welcome to Class One home to EYFS and Year One
Mrs Batchelor, Mrs Rich and Mrs Whitlock
We are really looking forward to sharing your learning journey with you this year and have lots of exciting opportunities planned full of fun, challenge and discovery.
In the first few weeks we are looking forward to welcoming our new EYFS children and their families, exploring the different ways we will learn, bonding as a class and setting ourselves achievable targets.
Here is a little bit about each of the teaching staff in class 1.
We can’t wait to begin our fabulous year of learning together.
We will be using rich high quality texts with fabulous illustrations to inspire our discussion and develop our knowledge in each curriculum area:
PE
Our PE sessions are on Wednesday and Thursday (taught by a sports coach from Thrive).
On PE days children can wear their PE Kit, please ensure children have suitable PE kit for outdoor PE.
Homework
Your child is expected to read regularly at home; reading books from home, school, and the library. Children will also have a Book Bingo, which is a list of recommended reads to support them in choosing a range of books to read. Each Thursday your child will bring home a 'Practice' phonics sheet which will show you what we have been focusing on during the week.
